Molly Joelle

Molly is 2 weeks old today! I can't believe how quickly it is going by. It is so wonderful being a mom. So maybe I only get to sleep for 2 hour intervals and Molly won't sleep in her bassinet, she will only sleep if somebody is holding her or in her carseat.... but it is definately worth it :) She is the most smiley baby I have ever seen... but only when she is sleeping. Sometimes I have a hard time taking my much needed naps while she is napping because I like to just sit and watch her make funny faces and smile. My mom told me that she thinks that when Molly smiles, she is dreaming of Heaven since that's all she knows right now. I thought that was a cute thought. She is the most perfect baby ever and we are so glad she's finally here!

Just a couple details on Molly's birth. She was born on August 4th at 2:13 PM. She weighed 7 lb 4 oz and was 21 inches tall. I got induced that morning at 7 AM since she decided she wasn't going to come out on her own. They waited an hour after inducing me, and since I still wasn't having contractions that were progressing like they should, they broke my water at 8:15. Within minutes I was having painful contractions. I asked for my epidural and it was wonderful! I didn't think it would help so fast and so well. It was a pleasant surprise. The nurse checked me at Noon and I was dialated to a 4 (I was dialated to a 3 when I came in). She decided she didn't need to check me for 2 hours, came back in around 1:45 and my mom insisted she checked me. The nurse checked me and with a shocked face said "Wow you're ready". My mom had been telling her the whole time that it runs in our family, quick labors, but the nurse had insisted I wouldn't be ready. It's a good thing she was there :) I ended up only pushing for about 30 minutes and now we have our beautiful baby girl!

Keith is being the most amazing dad ever. Molly already has him wrapped around her finger. Keith is so good at taking care of us both. He has changed more diapers then I have and is willing to do anything we need. I am so lucky to have him, and I think I would be a nervous wreck without him.

Anyway, here are some more pictures. I got a couple videos of her smiling as well that I will put on here later. Molly has decided her nap is over.

*Oh yeah! Remember this picture? From the ultrasound? Of her with her hand under her chin?*

She does that... still. She loves to sleep with her hand under her chin in some way. It makes me smile each time. She is definately the baby from the ultrasound ;)

She is Beautiful! congratulations. Harvey didn't sleep in his own bed till almost 4 months. Now he refuses to sleep next to me. So it will pass eventually.
